Economic meltdown around the globe does not slow capitalist Irwin Katsof -- As his company’s clients tap a rich worldwide network of institutional investors, political leaders, industrialists, executives, academics and scientists.

As we are privileged to interview the who’s who around the world via various media outlets we are always in awe by the sheer ingenious of those we connect with in a plethora of industries that are impacting the world around us in positive ways.

Today we have another such individual Irwin Katsof.

In 1995, Katsof founded the Jerusalem Fund of Aish HaTorah, and shortly thereafter relocated to New York with his wife Judy and eight children in tow. He served as its Executive Vice President until mid-2004 and thereafter as a Board Member.

His creative, soft-spoken approach attracted many celebrities and business leaders to explore their Jewish roots.

CNN’s Larry King, actors Kirk Douglas, Elliot Gould, Jason Alexander, Rod Steiger and William Shatner, as well as business magnates, AOL Time Warner Investments President Len Leader, and Dean and DeLuca Chairman Les Rudd are among the many that Katsof inspired to get involved in Jerusalem Fund programs.

Today, Katsof lives with his family in Monsey, New York and he has thirteen grandchildren in Israel.

Mr. Katsof shared a little more about who he is but more importantly how he and his international company is impaction our world for the better by helping executives, fund managers and entrepreneurs get access to capital even in this current shaky economic climate.

“I started Katsof Consulting in 2013 as a spin-off of my successful Global Capital Associates (founded in 2005) and Katsof Energy Consulting (founded in 2012). It was at that time when I was appointed by former Secretary of Commerce Gary Locke to advise the U.S. Commerce Department on International Energy Trade Policy. Since that time Katsof Consulting has successfully helped many of America’s chief corporate executives; fund managers get access to capital, developing markets and profitable partnerships.

Since 2012 Katsof has been a Certified Trade mission organizer with the U.S. Commerce Department organizing Certified Trade Missions to Germany(2012),Israel (2013) , India(2014), Hong Kong(2014) and Montreal, Canada(2014).

In a confidential audit by the U.S. Commerce Department, it was discovered that over 750 million dollars has been raised for US VC &PE Funds on this Trade Mission program. The program is a cost effective and efficient effective way to raise capital from foreign LP investors.

The main goal I had in mind when I started Katsof Consulting was and is today a natural outgrowth of Global Capital Associates -- in a determined effort to help entrepreneurs around the world connect with sources of capital.

One of our biggest accolades to date was when in 2012; Katsof Consulting was selected to organize the first ever U.S. Department of Commerce, Private Equity and Venture Capital Certified Trade Mission to Germany.

This Trade Mission was co- sponsored by the U.S. Department of Commerce International Trade Administration, the U.S. Embassy in Berlin, Deutsche Bank and SAIL Venture Partners. Some of the leading funds in the United States attended including Kohlberg Kravis Roberts (KKR), Kleiner Perkins, GE Alternative Energy and Polaris Investments.

Then things really sparked as on June 4-5 2013, Katsof Consulting organized the first ever Certified Trade Mission to Israel. U.S. Ambassador to Israel Dan Shapiro hosted the mission. Eleven leading U.S. funds participated including Canyon Partners, Sankaty Capital, Starwood Energy Partners, Lightstone Real Estate and Technology Cross Over Ventures.

The U.S. funds met with seventeen of the largest Israeli institutions representing over three hundred billion dollars of investable assets.

The testimonials arrive in droves and here are a few of what others are saying about Katsof Consulting’s services:

Colin Breeze the Vice President of Private Equity Excel TriGlobal told us:
We attended the Trade Mission to Hong Kong organized by Katsof Consulting. The event was organized beautifully, ran seamlessly and provided an extraordinary opportunity to meet a slate of qualified potential investors with a particular interest in our strategy.

The price-performance ratio was also spot on—meeting the same number of investors outside of a trade mission program would have required at least three trips of three days each (without accounting for the cost of developing the investor relationships required to make the meetings worthwhile).

Then Norman Sturmer the Founder and CEO Murray Hill Properties, LLC shared:
To have had the opportunity to present multi-million dollar Manhattan Properties to
Multi-billion dollar pension investors, is something we appreciated immensely. Thank you for that opportunity.

We were pleased when this came in from Wilson Orr of Managing Partner SSM Partners
The Trade Mission was a good use of time and money. I met several potential investors, and the time I spent with other GP’s was very helpful. The mission was well organized and made efficient use of our time. I look forward to participating in the future.

We live for these types of testimonials such as this from Thomas Stemberg  Managing General Partner Highland Consumer Partners, Former CEO & Founder of Staples:
An Interesting day meeting prospective LP’s, many of whom are taking a newfound interest in private equity investing.

    And then these two:
    1) The Trade Mission to Hong Kong allowed us to meet and gain exposure to investor groups which we would never have been able to otherwise, and in a highly time-efficient format.
    -Eric Fleiss, President Regent Properties

    2) This was an excellent program worth both the time and expense. I brought two different real estate funds to attend and they both met new investors. It saved us time and expense. It would have taken us six to seven times as many man hours to accomplish the number of meetings and cost us a significant amount more money. By far, one of the best business development values that exists. -Vitaly Pruss, Partner Excel Tri Global Real Estate Partners
