    Rare color Aurora over Telemark

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Hans-Dieter Fleger, 60, has been passionate about astronomy and photography since he was a boy. The native of Germany created a time-lapse video, made out of 970 photographs taken with three cameras, of the aurora borealis dancing over Atrå, Norway, Monday night. “The color of this aurora was very special, and since I started looking out for Auroras here in Atrå in 2002, I have never seen it before. They are usually green with a light touch of other colors,” he said.
    - zdan, CNN iReport producer

Last night a rare colored Aurora Borealis was observered over Telemark / South-Norway. My location is close to 60°N - which is rather far south in the country. Here the Aurora is usually green most of the time, but last night we had a very rare colored performance of this magic, cosmic light. Enjoy the Time-Lapse, made out of 970 still images.
