    World's Fair 1964 - Part 1

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Robert Ondrovic recently found a box of his father’s and as he was digging through, he uncovered a collection of photos from the 1964 World’s Fair in Queens. April 22, 2014, marks the 50th anniversary of the grand opening of the fair. His favorite of these photos is his family’s portrait in front of the famed Unisphere, which is one of the few things left standing since 1964. Robert is the young boy with the pink shirt, standing with his mother, brother and two sisters.

“It’s nice to look back at these and remember all these memories,” says Ondrovic, 53. “Seeing Mickey for the first time, ‘It’s a small world’ and being introduced to some Disney characters for the first time was a big deal for a 4-year-old.” See more of his vintage photos on CNN.com.
