    Back to the Fair

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Robert Ondrovic, who sent photos from the opening of the World’s Fair in 1964, went back to the park in Queens, New York, to photograph what it looks like today. “Although the NY State Pavilion (familiar to anyone who saw Men in Black) is more of a ‘ruins,’ the Unisphere remains a focal point as it did in '64,” he said. Ondrovic was just four years old when he and his family visited the fair.

On April 22, 2014, I returned to the site of the 1964 World's Fair in Queens, NY for the 50th Anniversary of the Fair's Opening Day. Although the NY State Pavilion (familiar to anyone who saw Men in Black) is more of a "ruins", the Unisphere remains a focal point as it did in '64. Copyrighted by Robert Ondrovic Photography
