Cameron Diaz, Leslie Mann, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Kate Upton, Taylor Kinney at “The Other Woman” press conference
Cameron Diaz, Leslie Mann and Kate Upton joined hands as they laughed between talking during the press conference for their movie “The Other Woman” in Los Angeles. Game of Thrones’ Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Chicago Fire’s Taylor Kinney bookmarked them with Giuliana Rancic as the moderator.
Forget fighting over a man, three women unite to enact revenge on the one man that’s cheated on all of them. It could easily be a woman vs. men movie, but instead is a movie about friendship and bonding by three women that never would have been friends. Perfect for girl’s night out, toss in Kate Upton and a beach scene reminiscent of this generation’s “10” with Bo Derek.
“They took out their revenge, but all he wanted to do was give them pleasure” then Nikolaj smiled. Everyone laughed. He then admitted that his character Mark King was a real prick.
Their camaraderie was obvious. They were having so much fun you know that “The Other Woman” is a comedy you’ll be able to laugh with over and over again. Some of their answers during the panel are below.
On soul mates:
“I believe there are many different soul mates because my soul has a lot of different facets and it needs a lot of…but in friendship too…friendships I think can also be soul mates” contemplated Cameron.
On their co-stars:
“It’s not easy to play the naïve young…” trailed Nikolaj trying to put the words together about Kate.
“You have to be really smart to play that dumb” chimed in Cameron.
“I was super excited to make out with the hot guy from the Game of Thrones. I’ve been married for 17 years and I thought yes!” She said she broke out in hives even after multiple attempts, but Leslie proudly shared that she got the job done.
“We just kind of hit it off right away. We had a couple of dinners together….Cameron’s like a teacher and Kates’ like my daughter. She’s only 5 years older than my daughter so I want to protect her…and these boys too” reflected Leslie.
On the fight scenes between Cameron and Leslie:
“It just became basically like sticky balls, where you throw it on and it sticks…it was funny. In the script there was no physical comedy sort of scripted and we just started finding it in these little places…She (Leslie) would basically hold on to me and I would ride on any way possible to try and get her off” demonstrated Cameron flapping her arms.
The bikini scene by Kate
“Normally when you go to a beach everybody’s wearing a bikini but on a film, you’re the only one, and there are like 60 people staring at you…I was so uncomfortable and these girls saw that I was uncomfortable and came and ran off camera with me just encouraging me and not letting me be alone.”
On being cheated on:
“I think we all have gone through some kind of betrayal whether it’s a boyfriend, a friend or family member. I think this is why this is sort relatable to everybody because we all know what it feels like to feel that betrayal” shared Cameron.
While “The Other Woman” could be all about revenge and heartbreak, it’s a celebration of love and friendship that will keep you laughing that could only be told with men.
