Toronto and Atlanta Based Company Making Mobile Classroom Learning EZ
By Paul Fitzgerald
Mobile classrooms are now the reality in the digital world, there is no doubt about that.
Leading the way with this new technology is ScholarLab, based in Toronto, Canada and Atlanta, Georgia.
The company has been involved with introducing an array of technology solutions that meet the rapidly changing demands of learners.
Simply put, 21st century learners expect to access quality learning tools, technologies and resources from anywhere, at any time.
Now ScholarLab is taking online learning to a whole new level with its new app, EZLive.
Dr. Laurelle Jno Baptiste, COO and Co-founder of the company, says their new app is cutting-edge technology that works well for everyone.
A case in point is the Ontario Dental Hygienists Association in Burlington, ON, Canada.
“This association has a large number of individuals who need to take courses, but in today’s world they are busy with work and raising families, so our new app is perfect for them,” says Dr. Jno Baptiste. “Now the association has access to create learning at their fingertips through new technology that replicates social media platforms.”
She adds, “With our new app, you can live stream any class or event from anywhere in the world and our technology is sound on every level.”
A big selling point with this new technology is that you don’t need a videographer and it is cost efficient. And launching a live broadcast is simply done from your iPod, iPhone or iPad. With one click of a button you are ready to go on an educational journey like no other.
ScholarLab now has a wide variety of clients in a number of industries that include healthcare and life sciences, energy and mining, law, manufacturing, transportation and logistics, retailers, food services, and human resources, to name a handful.
Their clients are now utilizing the new app as its effective, efficient and so user friendly.
Dr. Jno Baptiste states, “Many State and Local Bar Associations in the United States are quite innovative. They are relying on our technology to give lectures from the classroom, the boardroom and they are even using it in the courtrooms. They appreciate the fact that we are making education relevant and accessible.”
Dr. Jno Baptiste indicates that the online delivery of courses is often times pricey and even cumbersome in many ways.
“It’s simply amazing to see how fast technology is emerging and how people from all walks of life have access to learning with the click of a button,” she explains.
“What’s even more important is that our technologies are helping out with retention levels among learners as they have access to information in an efficient and flexible manner. We are giving organizations the means to educate in a cost efficient and technological friendly way that suits the needs of their learners.”
As well, the new app is ideal for continuing education associations that offer special industry designations of sorts. A number of them are using the new app from ScholarLab as they rely on memberships in order to survive and grow.
While there are many benefits with the new app, Dr. Jno Baptiste admits that education is traditional in its delivery, so resistance to new technology and the concept of a mobile classroom requires some thinking outside the box.
“The paradigm shift is the biggest challenge for us at present,” she says. “Some organizations tend to shy away from change. However, once we take them through the process they begin to accept and embrace change.”
Dr. Baptiste says that since technology is constantly changing, ScholarLab is always looking ahead in order to remain leaders in the mobile classroom experience.
“We have our pulse on new research and we also listen to our clients,” she says. “When we hear our clients suggest new ideas, we get to work right away. What our clients want is what learners want, so we work collaboratively with everyone to ensure we offer the right technology solutions to make the learning process efficient and most of all cost effective.”
