    Mariánské Lázně

Mariánské Lázně is world known place – visitors are mainly interested in healing springs or historically famous buildings. But only few visitors intend to complete a hiking round tour above city. We did so and the effort was worth it.
The origination of  the spa is surrounded with legends about a young craftsman apprentice from Cheb. On the walk from Teplá through the woods he had found a gurgling source. He drank from it and falled asleep tired. In his dream he had a vision of Virgin Mary pointing at the source with her left hand and blessed it.

When the young man woke up, he took a prayer book to pray. As he opened  the book he found Marian picture and he put it on the three under which  he slept. Later this picture was replaced with wooden one, since then  the spring is called Marian and the settlement later arisen is named  Mariánské Lázně.
