    Dry Tortugas National Park

My wife and I have spent two previous trips to Key West just enjoying the food, nightlife, drinks and various water activities. Every time we left, we always felt a little guilty that we didn't make the 90 mile excursion to Dry Tortugas National Park. It commands a whole day and with long weekends, we could never fit it in.

Years later and more mature, we finally took the 90 mile sea sickening ferry ride out to Dry Tortugas. It was absolutely worth it. It still amazes me that Fort. Jefferson has stood on the small key for over 150 years. If you want a feeling of true isolation, take this trip. There is great spots for snorkeling, history lessons and bird watching.
