    Downtown Airboat Flood Rescue

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Randy Hamilton called the scene “amazingly surreal” in downtown Pensacola, Florida, Wednesday morning. “Roads are collapsed nearby. Abandoned and flooded cars just littering the streets. As bad as hurricane Ivan damage almost," said the Pensacola photographer.

“Right now the weather feels like the day after a hurricane. Debris from trees everywhere. Standing water all around, grey skies, and wind gusts that make you fear something will blow down on you,” he said. “Luckily my house is on a hill. But I have been reading Facebook posts of friends needing to be rescued from their roofs, their cars floating away from where they were left, just astonishing events been reported.”

These are the images I took of the aftermath of a storm system that dumped 2 feet of rain, 40+ mph winds and dangerous lightning rates of 60,000 per hour.
