CEO - Brandon Lee targets high to dominate the recruitment industry in Asia Pacific via their HR tech start-up in Singapore

The impossible becomes possible with determination and passion as you too will experience reading the newest interview we conducted here on CNN’s iReport with Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder of OpenRecruiters.com Brandon Lee

Mr. Lee co-founded a few start-ups which include:

    1) Video conversion business

    2) Ink refilling service

    3) Online shop for lingerie and men’s skincare

With over five years of business management experience. He has experience in business development and e-commerce websites.

Prior to OpenRecruiters, Mr. Lee was successfully part of a specialist recruitment firm’s team.

Now with more than four years of recruitment experience under his belt -- Brandon Lee’s new joint venture OpenRecruiters.com with Chief Technology Officer and Co-founder Nicholas Chan is proving successful.

Here he is - Brandon Lee:

“We started OpenRecruiters to provide an interactive platform for employers (companies) to look for the best available talent for that mid to high tier (often) ‘hard to fill’ position.

From the beginning we wanted OpenRecruiters to allow employers to search for specialist recruitment agencies that specialize in a prospective employee’s industry and know the job function well. By matching an employer and employee with the right recruitment agencies to do the job, you get the right talent faster and better.

To explain what it is we actually do without all the ‘techie’ jargon:

OpenRecruiters is a human resource technology platform that seeks to improve the talent acquisition process between Recruiters and Employers via automation, saving employee and employer time, resources and money.

Our company was founded and runs smoothly by a team of recruitment professionals and technologists in July 2013 with a strong mission: ‘to make recruitment better, and faster.’

All around the globe we note there is too much inefficiency in dealing with most recruitment agencies; it seems every recruiter offers different contract/terms, different rates and different expertise and hard to verify connections.

This is where Open Recruiters works seamlessly due to being coupled with a private recruitment marketplace, employers are able to accurately and promptly reach relevant specialist recruiters to fill their mid-to-senior level positions, and allows employers to define standard working agreements and monitor the performance of the recruiters.

Many ask our team how we are different than other companies similar to ours.

Fact is, one strategic mechanism that differentiates with our competitors is we strive to provide unprecedented transparency to employers and recruiters internationally especially in Asia Pacific, along with a work process that takes into consideration the nuances and working styles of recruiters and employers in Asia Pacific.

We do not restrict any form of communication between the employer and recruiter in our platform, while at the same time ensuring proper steps to prevent information abuse are in place.

Additionally, we are the first recruitment platform to come out with profiling tools for both candidates and companies, so as to better match them and to increase retention rates dramatically.

We also introduced resume parsing technology making it easy for recruiters to upload and manage their candidates’ data.

Previously I was working as a specialist recruiter in a boutique recruitment firm, where I noticed resources were scarce and there were a number of inefficiencies in the recruitment industry.

For instance, HR staff often needs to review multiple contracts and use multiple recruiters. The same information gets repeated unnecessarily.

Another disconnect I experienced time and time again was there was no way for employers to monitor and track the performance of their recruiters.

In other words: There is no industry standard in Singapore measuring recruiter competency; time to fill position, hiring rates, the time to interview, etc.

When we officially launched Friday March 28, 2014, we recruited key management team members who believed in our vision. Today, our team has forty plus years of recruitment industry experience combined.

That humbles us and we are very grateful for this since it is very rare for any start-up to possess such a strong management team ready to grow together.” said, Brandon Lee, CEO and Co-founder of OpenRecruiters.com
