    Pro-Russian Demonstrators on the Attack

This video was taken from the 5th floor of Athena Mall on Greek Street in Odessa, Ukraine at about 3:30 pm on Friday, May 2nd. I was not able to film the initial wave of approaching demonstrators - this footage is of the remaining stragglers. The initial wave of apparently pro-Russian demonstrators filled the entire street at least one block deep (I estimated at least 500 people) and they were moving at a jogging pace, chanting in unison, and carrying their weapons above their heads. Some stopped in front of the police station (left side of street with dark colored awning) to taunt the police and then continue.

I did not know it, but the group was running to clash with a group of at least a couple of thousand pro-Ukrainian demonstrators in Siborka Square on the opposite side (west) of the mall from where I was standing. The people in the square/park were marching peacefully when this group seen in the video attacked them immediately with stun grenades, smoke bombs, unknown pyrotechnics, bricks/cobblestones, and at least some gunfire.
