Bring Back Our Girls Protest In Pictures

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Photographer Ayobami Macaulay captured the emotion as protesters walked through Ikeja, Nigeria, rallying for the Bring Back Our Girls movement Monday. “I tried to put myself in the situation of the parents that have lost their kids, and set out to do something that might bring a bit of comfort to them, which was taking photographs that pass across the message that We Nigerians care and they are not alone in this struggle,” said the 25-year-old from Lagos.

“It was peaceful and purposeful, there was a deep feeling of community that cut across the ethnic tribes that normally serve as a divider rather than a unifier. Today there was no Igbo Yoruba or Hausa; there was just Nigeria.”
