Innovative Memory Care Community Opening Soon in Stone Oak
As part of the community’s commitment to education and the fight against Alzheimer’s, Autumn Leaves of Stone Oak invites the public to an Alzheimer’s Fundraising Dinner at Aldaco’s Restaurant on Friday, May 9, from 6:00 -- 9:00 p.m., at 20079 Stone Oak Parkway, San Antonio, Texas 78258. The dinner will raise money for the Alzheimer’s Association and feature the presentation of “Alzheimer’s: Facts, Reality, and the Future” from Yvonne Lozano, Ph.D. There is a minimum donation of $25.
“My goal is to help families living with Alzheimer’s, and I am excited to host this fundraiser,” said Shanna Lindsey, Executive Director of Autumn Leaves of Stone Oak. “I have been a nurse for the past 23 years, and working in memory care is the most rewarding area for me. We are bringing innovative services to San Antonio, and I look forward to getting to know our residents, their families, and members of our greater community. We believe in partnering with local organizations like the Alzheimer’s Association to make a difference, and I know our relationship will continue once we open our doors.”
Utilizing current scientific research, Autumn Leaves of Stone Oak will feature an innovative building design and cutting-edge technology to create a calm, safe, and engaging environment. The community will also feature the state-of-the-art Vigil System, a motion sensor program in each resident’s private room that allows for safer independent living. The system subtly alerts staff members, if needed, and gathers information that serves to improve the resident’s comfort level.
In addition, the community will offer free programs to the public including seminars, speakers, and monthly Alzheimer’s support groups. Autumn Leaves of Stone Oak will be the only memory care community in Stone Oak to offer a day stay program. Respite care is also available.
“Experiencing Alzheimer’s or dementia with a loved one is not only challenging, but can be frightening,” said Ginny Brown, Director of Sales and Marketing for Autumn Leaves of Stone Oak. “Our compassionate team is here to provide not only care, but education to help families and members of the community have a better understanding of Alzheimer’s. Our support group will show families that they are not alone, and we plan to provide tools that will assist them on their journey.”
Autumn Leaves of Stone Oak is located approximately 19 miles north of downtown San Antonio on Stone Oak Parkway.
The community is approximately three miles from Methodist Stone Oak Hospital and North Central Baptist Hospital.
If you are interested in attending the fundraising dinner, please RSVP to Ginny Brown at 210-380-4867 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
