    Who is on the Top of the Web?


    SEO is all about your website’s visibility in search engines. The rule is quite simple: the higher you get on the search results page, the more your target audience will notice you. The ultimate goal is to bring larger numbers of visitors to your website, to see it among the select few giants of the Internet, overshadowing other sites with tons of traffic. In order to meet these great expectations you need to understand your position in the ranking order and how much traffic you have compared to your competitors. This is why gathers all the relevant data about the giants and the mice of the internet.
    There are two popular ranking systems to define your site’s reputation on the Web – PageRank and Alexa Rank.
    PageRank is a backlink-based algorithm created by Google. They analyse the number and the quality of links leading to your site to determine how important your website is. It is crucial to understand that links from higher ranked pages weigh more than links from lower ones. The ranking ranges from 1 to 10, where 1 is an unknown domain and 10 is an extremely popular domain, linked to on millions of other websites.
    Top 5 by Pagerank:
    Alexa Rank, on the other hand, counts your website’s traffic. The algorithm is based on the amount of traffic from users who have installed the Alexa toolbar. The main parameters are the number visits to your website in a day and the number of particular page-views every day. Alexa only counts unique visits, so it doesn’t matter how many times a specific person has visited your website. Unlike Google’s PageRank, websites with a lower Alexa Rank are the most popular on the Internet.

    These are the true Internet ‘giants’ who are at the top of the worldwide Web, and it would take a lot of hard work to acquire a place among them.
