McCarthy Building Companies, Inc., a Texas builder for 35 years, recently hired Brian Luney as its newest project director in the Houston office. With more than 20 years of industry experience, Luney will be responsible for establishing standards for project scheduling and execution.

“The McCarthy Houston Division is thrilled to have Brian join us. He will add more than two decades of industry knowledge to projects we’re currently undertaking and pursuing, and we know he has a lot to offer,” said McCarthy Houston Division President Jim Stevenson. “We’re excited to see his skillset put to work.”

Luney will assist the company in managing staffing, budgeting, contracts, scheduling, maintaining owner relationships and overseeing risk management practices and overall project performance. Luney will initially be working on The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) Victory Lakes Specialty Care Center expansion project in League City, Texas among other projects.

Prior to joining McCarthy, Luney worked as a project director for Rogers-O’Brien Construction in Dallas. His background includes a variety of project types including office, mixed use, multi-family high rise, parking garage, and higher education projects, including the addition and renovation of Southern Methodist University’s Moody Coliseum in Dallas.

Additionally, Luney held previous positions with Hensel-Phelps Construction in Austin, Texas.
