#BringBackOurGirls ~ Nigeria's Plea for Help
I abducted your girls
I will sell them in the market, by allah
There is a market for selling humans
Allah says I should sell. He commands me to sell
I will sell women
I sell women
~ Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau
It was in May 2013 that Shekau first announced in a video that Boko Haram would start kidnapping girls. The kidnappings, he said, were retaliation for Nigerian security forces nabbing the wives and children of group members. On March 28, 2014, 25 young girls were taken from a town called Konduga. Then, they abducted over 276 girls on April 14, 2014, from Chibok Government Girls Secondary School and allegedly calling them, “slaves and threatened to “sell them in the market for $12.00, by Allah.” Boko Haram opposes Western culture, saying, “Nigerian schools are turning young people away from Islam. Western education should end!!” Therefore, he abducts the girls and sells them to keep the rites of Islam alive. “Girls, you should go and get married.” In addition, they abducted 11 more girls from a neighboring village, which are noted to be between the ages of 12 to 15.
According to Newsrescue.com, “One girl who recently escaped following an earlier kidnapping said she was prized as a terror leader’s wife because she had been a virgin. She said young female captives were raped up to 15 times a day, forced to convert to Islam and had their throats cut if they refused.”
Nigerian police has offered a $300,000 reward Wednesday for information leading to the rescue of the 276 girls. The Obama administration will send military, intelligence and law enforcement advisors to Nigeria to help the beleaguered government find and rescue more than 270 teenage girls who were abducted by the Boko Haram terrorist group last month, the White House said Tuesday. President Obama, also, spoke out on the abductions for the first time calling them "heartbreaking" and "outrageous."
Human Trafficking, Sex Slaves, is a crime that needs to be addressed. Everyday in America and in other countries, women are abducted and sold into this $32 billion dollar business. #BringBackOurDaughters #BringBackOurGirls…. I pray that they release those girls, so they can return home to their families. This terror has truly hurt my heart and injured my spirit because I am a daughter, I have a sister, female cousins, a mother, no woman is safe and human trafficking/sex trading is real. We pray for Our Girls, We pray for Peace!!!!
