Theodore Roosevelt Ntl Park, North Dakota
This iReport is part of an assignment:
Visited all 50 states?
17 To Go
I'm kind of a "list" traveler. All 7 continents, 59 national parks, 50 states, etc... It's not so much that I feel the need to check the box (though it is satisfying) as much as I don't like to revisit places I've already been. There is so much to see in the world and more specifically, within the US.
Everyone has their own definition of having "been in a location" and my definition is that I have to have done something there. So driving through the top section of Texas on I-40 and not stopping to see the sights means I can't count it.
I knocked #32 & #33 (Wyoming & Montana) off the list last year on a road trip from Minnesota to see several National Parks. When planning a road trip, I always look at the National Park list along with the states I haven't been and see if I can work in new locations.
While I won't hit the "50 by 40" mark, I hope to hit the last 17 states before I'm 50.
My photo is from Theodore Roosevelt National Park in North Dakota, which was on the homeward leg of my last trip.
