    Choman - Rwandz River Expedition

    This Expedition has taken place in Kurdistan Region, within Halgord Sakran National Park, it is one of the most amazing place in the Middle East. the national park contain some eye-opener mountains in the world as a part of Zagros Range. It Also has some amazing rivers.
    In this Expedition, A kayak trip conducted by expert kayakers will take place over a 10+ day period during May of 2014.
    What the Expedition do?

    Outreach, educational and demonstration presentations will be provided at the riverside during outreach events, and
    A high-quality, professional film on the expedition will be prepared from footage obtained during the trip, which can have multiple uses: Encouraging eco-tourism in Kurdistan, northern Iraq.Raising awareness about threats to water quality
    Promoting wild and scenic river protection.
    the objectives of the Expedition:
    Demonstrate the eco-tourism potential of wild and scenic rivers in Iraq; Bring attention to the threats facing the river basin;
    Encourage sustainable use of and protection for our rivers in general, and Promote new options for eco-tourism as well as boating and sporting clubs to use this and other rivers for sports training and recreation.

    Expedition Route – approx. 81 km.
    It starts form Choman City on the border of Iran in the River of Balakan. till the Great Zebra.
