    A special NRI Saturday Opinion

    by Emma Agu
NRI, Queens New York (Opinion) --

Now that the world is united and standing firm with Nigeria for the very first time, many of us are beginning to show our true colors.

Some goons out there who play politics of division and hate have rolled out their propaganda machines filled with lies and conspiracy theories, poor you who follows every wind that blows is now supporting them and saying these girls are not missing! Are you kidding me?
The fire storm ignited by millions of Nigerian women, galvanized and spurred the International Community into action, '#bringbackourgirls' slogan is now heard in every land. At this moment, the lie being peddled and propelled by politicians who are fighting for their political lives, is getting many Nigerians weary. Our people are now sharing their stupid theories that the abduction of over 234 schools girls in Chibok Borno State, never took place. Gullible Nigerians are falling for this lie; hook, line and sinker!

If tears could bring back these Children, their traumatized and frustrated parents have cried more than enough.
Credulously and shamelessly, many of us are jumping ship. We now say these girls are not missing. Politics and tribalism have eaten deep into our souls. Political turncoats and those who think this abduction was a ploy to embarrass the Federal government of Nigeria have gained millions of followers overnight. We are now a house divided against itself!

International news about Nigeria is no longer about Corruption, embezzlement, fraud and 419, we are now the most talked about nation on earth. We must all seize this moment to our advantage. The healing process of a nation called Nigeria must begin after our sisters are rescued and Boko Haram destroyed.

As a musician, I find it odd that none of my colleagues have made a public statement regarding this ugly abduction. Agreed that Goodluck Jonathan has done well for us, speaking out in moments like these, should not harm our relationship with our President. Musicians are the peoples mouthpiece. We are messengers.

The federal government of Nigeria has assured the nation that these girls will be rescued. May we as a people, put our differences aside and support the government's efforts to rescue our abducted daughters. Fellow Nigerians, this is not the time to be divided. Times like these call for unity. Boko Haram has been in existence since 2002, with the help of the International Community, Nigerians will defeat Boko Haram and Justice shall prevail
