    Visited all 50 states?

Air Force Brat ... Have dad will travel

As an Air Force brat, with a father that loved traveling and seeing the world, I have been in all 50 states. We always drove from assignment to assignment and detoured for a variety of scenic destinations, like Mt Rushmore, Grand Canyon, Devils Mountain, and so on. Throw in another three years in Japan and he retired in Florida. I went through 17 schools in the 12 elementary school years, and never lived in any one house for more than nine months. After one year of college I joined the navy and found myself in Spain, Turkey, Greece, Philippines, Hong Kong and back to Japan. The navy put me on a flight to catch a ship in the Philippines, which stopped at Juno Alaska where I did get off the plane and walked around for about an hour, making it the 50 state I have lived or been in.
Pros: I have seen a large portion of the world. I have seen that all the different families I have encountered have more in common than some people think, whether they are American, Chinese, Philipino, Japanese, Spanish, Greek, and so on. I have learned how to meet people and have them accept me into their world. I have seen more historic and tourist attractions than most people have dreamed of visiting.
Cons: When people ask where 'Home' is I can't say I have one place. There is no place where I can say I grew up there. I have a plethora of acquaintances but only a handful of close friends.
Overall I consider my life as having been blessed by my experiences. I would not change a thing.
