    Republican Problems In My Eyes

My name is Byron Thomas and I’m a proud American and Republican. I heard Senator Rand Paul talk on Fox News about Republicans needing to reach out and go into minority areas like Harlem. Like seriously, no dip Sherlock! See this is seriously one thing that I get frustrated with the Republican Party, is the outreach to minority neighborhoods that are labeled the "projects" or "ghetto" or areas that are heavily ran by minorities. Like, why are we the party that's scared to go into those neighbors and areas? Democrats definitely don't have a problem going into any neighborhood or area but for some reason, Republicans will cross out areas that they feel like they can't get and that just bothers me because Democrats will go into Republican areas that they know that they can't get either (I’ve seen it and heard it with my own eyes). Then that gives Democrats (not all but certain ones) fuel to say "Republicans don't care about you." There's a reason we've lost the last two Presidential elections. Phone calling those areas isn't good enough! We need to make a presence! We need to make sure we're going into every neighborhood, whether it's a rich/poor neighborhood or black/white neighborhood. I believe that if we get at least one person to think twice about whether to vote for a Republican or Democrat at the polls, then that's a win in my book. I’m a college student and I’ve volunteered for several Republicans and I just hope that my hard work will pay off where I can enter into the political field. The last two years, the only neighborhoods I’ve walked in were majority white neighborhoods. I’ve never walked in a minority ran neighborhood or area, whether to sign people up to vote or get someone to vote republican. You don’t know how it feels when you’re a minority and you’re not reaching out to other minorities. It makes people of your race turn on you, because they only see you in majority white areas. But I personally want to reach out to everyone because we’re all Americans. I want to register everyone to vote because someone has died for their right to vote and I could care less if they decide to vote for a Democrat. Lastly, I want to say that I’m tired of hearing Republicans use the words, “African Americans”. I’ve never known Republicans to be Political Correct because that’s seriously something Democrats usually are. I’m 100% American and the United States of America is the only country I’ll ever die for. We’re one nation under God, which means to me that we’re all Americans under God. Overwhelm People with Love and May God Bless the United States of America
