How to Use SoundCloud Plays Effectively

If you're an artist and want to share your music, you could either wait for a big company to produce your album or you could just decide to take things in your hands and share your music with the world, on your terms.  Numerous artists today use SoundCloud Plays Reviews to share their music. Sound Cloud is the number one online platform for you to connect with your fans and promote your music.

As a new artist, the biggest challenge is to get yourself heard.  Your goal is to get more and more people to listen to your tracks and share your music further.  SoundCloud providers can achieve that for you by providing you an audience and by promoting your tracks.

Today, there are several SoundCloud providers catering to new artists. These include Devumi, Build My Plays, Boost Sound Cloud, Social Formula and Sound Cloud Fame to name a few. While these providers charge a fee for number of plays, they can provide you an outlet to ensure your music is heard, that you build a fan base and that you and your talent gains exposure.

Let's be real. Everybody does not have the expertise or the budget to market their music in a big way.  SoundCloud gives you the opportunity to make your music go viral.  At the same time, it does not mean that you can have absolutely no talent and still gain positive publicity. If and only if you're talented, unique and creative, then you can generate a fan following and keep your audience engaged.

Like any marketing tool, SoundCloud plays also have their pros and cons. The biggest advantage obviously is that it is a great way to kick-start your music and strengthen your social credibility.  If you're good, you can attract a wide audience as well as media and agents. You can get people talking about your music and build a loyal fan base.

However, you should keep in mind that SoundCloud plays are not targeted.  You may get a decent play count but that does not mean you are the next Michael Jackson.  A large number of people still consider buying SoundCloud plays as an unacceptable marketing practice. Remember, this is just another type of marketing medium. It may or may not work. As long as you know what you're getting out of it. If you feel your art is getting the right exposure and you are happy with the results, then SoundCloud plays is working for you. Don't get carried away by tall claims by providers and don’t rush into dreams of becoming an overnight sensation.

There is no doubt that SoundCloud is a great platform to foster an online community and to get feedback on your music. A large number of active musicians now use SoundCloud.  The trick however, is to use this tool in the right way.  There are some things that you should keep in mind in order to use SoundCloud effectively. First, always make sure you set up a URL that is consistent with your other social media accounts.  Second, make sure you add social media links to your SoundCloud profile (ideally speaking, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube should be there).  Third, let the audience know you are what, what you stand for and how they can contact you if need be. Nobody is asking you to tell the world your innermost thoughts but having a short bio never hurt anyone.

Fourth, put your best material out there.  Don't get carried away and upload anything and everything that you've ever produced. This is your chance to become famous. Make the most of it. Fifth, identify your genre. This will help fans discover you more easily and also help you be more specific in your targeting. Lastly, be open to feedback, no matter how nasty it is. Respond to comments. Connect with your fans. Participate in a conversation. Look at it this way; at least they are talking about you. Isn’t that what it is all about?
