    Visited all 50 states?

family with 40 states (so far)

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Semloh97 said that as a family, she, her husband, her 13-year-old daughter and seven-year-old son, have visited 40 U.S. states thus far. "My husband has [visited] 46 states, and we all agreed that he's not allowed to get to 50 unless we're all together," she said.

In order for the family to check a state off their list, they have to actually leave the airport. "We don't have criteria beyond that," she said. "We let the kids pick the destination. Each year they take turns."

"We're not competitive, but we do intentionally visit as many states as possible when we're on a road trip."
    - Verybecoming, CNN iReport producer

Our family loves to travel, especially to our National Parks. Ages 13 and 7, our children have been to 40 states.

We have trips planned over the next two years to visit the remaining 10; and Hawaii will be our 50th.

On a recent trip to Carter Caves State Park, Kentucky, our son discovered spelunking and loved it. Our daughter enjoys visiting Universities during our road trips.

    Family favorites include:
National Parks: Bryce Canyon and Grand Teton
Favorite road trips: South Dakota and Arizona
Favorite cities: New York and Washington, D.C.
    Favorite states: California and Utah
Favorite excursion: Helicopter over Grand Canyon
