    Once as One

I was looking through my pictures of when I lived in Crimea when it was still part of Ukraine and found a couple of photos that really brought on nostalgia. These two pictures were taken inside the Crimean Parliament building, where winners of the 2008 Olympiad were congratulated by several minsters. It is interesting to see the Ukrainian and Crimean flags side by side, when in a short time neither will probably be flown in Crimea. They will both be replaced by the Russian flag. It is also somewhat ironic that I put up the peace sign right under these flags. Little did I or anyone else know that six years later the people who have been part of Ukraine for years would wake up one morning and find themselves in a different country.
