    Travel photo of the day

    Lake Atitlán, Guatemala

I spent the summer of 2011 in Sololá, Guatemala studying anthropology along Lake Atitlán. The first is a picture I captured while exploring the town cemetery which runs alongside the mountain overlooking the lake. It was so beautiful it made me wish it was our custom in America to have colored headstones. The second picture I took while crossing the lake for class in a ¨lancha.¨ Experiencing an ancient culture such as the Mayans first hand makes you think about how young our country and people are compared with the rest of the world.
