This iReport is part of an assignment:
The world's best national parks
Pagsanjan Falls, Philippines
Declared a National Park in 1939 and reconfirmed in 1976, this beautiful but seemingly clandestine spot, Pagsanjan Gorge and Falls, has been a perennial favorite among the tourist spots in the Philippines. The gorge itself boasts of breathtaking scenes--viewed from a unique canoe ride, with the vessel taken upstream by fleet footed men. But wait until you see where the high point of the trip: a magnificent view of the waterfalls. There is a raft available that takes the visitors to the "Devil's Cave," the hollow right behind the falls, but, of course, with the experience of having to pass under the cascade and the water pounding against your head and body.
