    Webby Awards: Red Carpet

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     alexpreditor told me, 'There was a really wide variety of internet celebrities, some CEOs and inventors - some famous for twerking. It's always interesting to see different reporters' approaches - you have to have a strategy to get the celebs attention especially if they don't need the press. I wanted to get their reviews of their peers work - I like seeing progression of ideas and who influences who. Taylor Schilling was more nervous than I was - and it was my first time covering red carpet - so that really surprised me.'

Last night I spoke with attendees and nominees of the 18th Annual Webby Awards in Lower Manhattan, including David-Michel Davies (Exec Dir, The Webby Awards), Jimmy Maymann (CEO Huffington Post) and winners Taylor Schilling (Orange is the New Black, Best Actress) and De La Soul (Special Achievement Award). I ask them what makes creating content for the web different than other media and to name the best thing they saw on the internet in the past year. Here are there answers.

The Webby Awards is the leading international award honoring excellence on the Internet. Established in 1996 during the Web's infancy, The Webbys is presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS) — a 1,000+ member judging body that includes Executive Members comprised of leading Web experts, business figures, luminaries, visionaries and creative celebrities, and Associate Members who are former Webby Award Winners and Nominees and other Internet professionals.
