Edgebrook University Creates Global Engineering Alliance

Edgebrook University is launching the first of its kind, a Global Engineering Universities Alliance, with other universities worldwide.

(Houston, TX – 22nd May, 2014), The Engineering sector is the largest in the overall industrial sectors. It is a diverse industry with a number of segments. As the engineering boom continues, there is a growing need for skilled workers and engineers. The changes in the engineering profession and engineering education have followed changes in technology and society. Disciplines were added and curricula were created to meet the critical challenges in society, and to provide the workforce required to integrate new developments into the economy. However, today, technological change is occurring at a faster and faster pace. Engineering needs to apply some of its skills to anticipating future necessary advances, and adapting the education of future generations of engineers to be ahead of the curve, insofar as that is possible.

Edgebrook University hopes to offer the answer by launching the Global Engineering Universities Alliance with other top universities. The other partners are selected on their specialization in fields, international repute and are from all parts of the world such as USA, UK, Canada, Australia, Brazil, Norway, Scotland, Singapore, Malaysia, UAE, India and China. The alliance of all the universities will encourage core curriculum changes that will include courses in petroleum, mechanical, electrical, design, reservoir, structural, pipeline, hydrology, geology and physiology with evolving technologies, practices and regulations. A certificate training program will also be offered under the alliance. The alliance is about partnering on research, a core curriculum, allowing student transferability and even policing ourselves for academic quality. It will present strong "learning cultures" and also offer in-the-job learning, mentor and buddy systems, early career development programs, continuing education opportunities, and other personal and professional development programs; recognizing these perks are needed not only to adapt skilled workers from other industries but also to appeal to candidates looking for a stable base for careers in the engineering industry. An expanded number of internship and co-op programs for engineering students will also beoffered. Partnership programs with community colleges will also be developed, all trends that signal it's more than compensation the new labor force is seeking.

“There is much to be hoped for from the fact that engineering has a tremendous role to play in facilitating international cooperation.” Alastair Bruce, Dean of Engineering, states. “Engineering speaks through an international language of mathematics, science, and technology, and, as such, bodies of professionals across the globe very quickly find themselves on common ground when dealing with engineering concepts. It looks at least possible that the real future of engineering lies on a global, rather than on any particular merely national stage—particularly as the challenges facing engineering are themselves increasingly global in nature. We are seeing 100 percent employment of our engineering grads. Any grad wanting to go to work has no problem finding the right job. Engineering is a good place to be."

Edgebrook University offers a wide range of excellent academic programs, infusing them with a matchless technological perspective that enhances their relevance in today's world. The School offers high-quality programs in fields like aerospace, mechanical, electrical, industrial and civil engineering. The school offers highly innovative pedagogical methods that nurture a climate of intellectual growth in a broad range of disciplines and interdisciplinary fields. The curriculum, which has been designed by subject experts and scholars, aims to provide students with high-quality engineering education that prepares students to thrive and excel in today’s competitive world.

Ideal for students and professionals seeking an excellent education in various engineering fields, the School of Engineering offers a highly flexible and affordable study program. Experienced professionals seeking an engineering degree in their field can pursue their education without sacrificing their personal or professional commitments.
