    Visited all 50 states?

A year on the Road in a van named Vandrea

My boyfriend Isaiah (age 30) and I (age 27) returned to Oregon last year from the adventure of a lifetime. We saved up, quit our professional jobs and spent 365 days living in a 20-year old van at Wal-Mart’s across the country. We made 47 states to date and saw the best and worst of America before breaking down (for the last time) in Iowa. Call us crazy if you want but after hearing all we did you might want to try it too. Let’s start summarizing in order of importance. We got to be extras on the final season of Breaking Bad, Isaiah actually met Bryan Cranston and Vince Gillian and I was ten feet from the entire cast. We partied during Mardi Gras like the locals do, marched with the mob of Raven fans during Super bowl and took shots with a 19-year old bartender in Louisiana. We saw Sheryl Crow in concert in Nashville, saw Shania Twain block off the entire Vegas strip to ride up on horseback, followed Steve Zahn down the street and saw an alumni from the Amazing Race do a strip tease. We drank our way through the Bourbon trail in Kentucky and spent 4 days at an unbelievable blues festival in Mississippi. We got stuck in multiple Bison traffic jams, were 15-feet away from a bear and were surrounded by alligators as we hiked through a swamp. We visited almost every National Park, many state parks, experienced such untold beauty and saw the most beautiful sunset ever in Sedona. We experienced the limit of AAA’s tow policy and met some wonderful and not so wonderful people. And at least one man who wanted to marry my mother and thinks he looks like Elvis (he does not by the way). For more information you can visit our blog at: www.vandreavandretti.blogspot.com.
