My family is Polish, and in the summer of 2009, we had the opportunity to travel to a few cities and towns in Poland. I think my siblings and I were so surprised by the beauty of this country. We were still expecting a sad, war-ravaged Eastern European country, but instead we were surprised by beauty all around. I captured many different pictures in Warsaw, Katowice, Bielsko-Biala, Wroclaw and Zory. We also have extended family still living there, even though all my grandparents escaped during the war. There's nothing better than traveling to a country and really immersing yourself with the people there. The people were all so friendly! Everything we experienced in Poland was amazing; the food, drinks, people, churches, museums, and more. We traveled to Pope John Paul II's home, Auschwitz - where my grandmother was, and many of the cute town squares. It's a trip we will never forget. I can't wait to go back. Congrats Poland. You're a beautiful country full of magical surprises.
