Flag placing at Manila American Cemetery for Memorial Day
My mom, sister and I went to the Manila American Cemetery early today to help in placing thousands of American and Philippine flags by the graves of more than 17,000 service members. Dozens of volunteers—from students to active service members—also showed up to keep the Flags In tradition alive.
The activity was completed in 2 hours.
A Memorial Day ceremony will be held at the cemetery tomorrow, May 25.
We thought that it would be a good idea to honor the service members who have died during the World War II by participating in this activity.
