    Beacon Hill Park

This lovely (and large) park is in the heart of downtown Victoria, BC. The city has been called the most English in all of Canada, and for good reason - it used to be a British colony and many English residents left their mark on the architecture, culture, and plentiful gardens here. You can even find one or two castles around. Like it's bigger brother, Stanley Park in Vancouver, Beacon Hill Park is quite spacious with plenty of room to roam and great views looking over to the Olympic Mountains in Washington State, USA. There are also several ponds and lakes, including the one in this photo, with turtles and various waterfowl having a gay old time under the sunshine.
