    Slieve League Sea Cliffs

Just went hiking at Slieve League (Sliabh Liag) Sea Cliffs in County Donegal. While they are among the highest of all sea cliffs throughout Europe, they are still very walkable. Hill walking is actually one of the favorite pastimes throughout Ireland, as hundreds of paths are easily followed and well marked all along the Wild Atlantic Way.

Slieve League towers over Donegal Bay at approximately 700 meters high (2,000 ft.) There's a lookout platform just past the parking lot, so if you aren't into hiking, you'll still get a great view. If you are even moderately physically fit, opt for the hike. Just hiking up 250 meters will take you to the viewpoints you see in my photographs.

The hiking trail consists of expertly placed stone "stairs" and soft-on-the-feet turf. A half-hour walk will take you about half way to the top. We didn't go any further the day I was there as the peak was encased in clouds.
