The California shooting tragedy
"I have tried very hard to fit in with the social scene there, but I have ultimately been unable to do so. There are too many obnoxious people who have ruined my whole experience at that place," Elliot Rodger
"That man that hath a tongue, I say is no man,
If with his tongue he cannot win a woman."
HE SNAPPED !......Pure and simple !
Virgin killer was beaten up, left with a broken ankle and robbed of his Gucci sunglasses after he tried to push girls for not talking to him at a party, his manifesto reveals
In his rambling memoir, Elliot Rodger detailed going out to a party last year in one last ditch attempt to lose his virginity
But it failed when he became enraged that the girls were talking to 'obnoxious slobs' instead of talking to him...(Because these are the types today's ME, misguided generation WANT to mix with !)
Today's sorority and fraternity houses like the spring breaks students frequent in Panama City, South Padre Island, Cancun, Palm Springs and many more places are nothing more than BIG MEAT MARKETS like the movie Animal House, etc where college students flock to, drink, use drugs, go wild and sleep with ANYONE who smiles at them !
Many a young man, often shy and polite discover the hard way that all too often attractive girls dressed to kill ! like to tease, demoralize, embarrass, humiliate and tease guys ! Some men are tough inside and take it with a pinch of salt, others just CAN'T handle it and their self esteem and ego is destroyed and they LOSE IT !
.My love is as a fever, longing still
For that which longer nurseth the disease,
Feeding on that which doth preserve the ill,
The uncertain sickly appetite to please.
My reason, the physician to my love,
Angry that his prescriptions are not kept,
Hath left me, and I desperate now approve
Desire is death, which physic did except.
Past cure I am, now reason is past care,
And frantic-mad with evermore unrest;
My thoughts and my discourse as madmen's are,
At random from the truth vainly express'd;
For I have sworn thee fair and thought thee bright,
Who art as black as hell, as dark as night.
.This is another VERY sad day for America and a tragic loss and waste of young lives !
It is typical standard procedure for authorities to write of this young guy as a nutter, etc ! But the truth is...horrible as his actions where....there is a LOT of truth behind his emotional pains and intelligent, impartial folk who are parents of men like myself (single dad 51 years) will analyze the entire facts......not just those of armchair shrinks, sheriffs and the media then draw their own conclusions !

As parents we must try to understand the incomprehensible mindsets of many of today's younger generation...just as our parents must have been very confused with our behavior
I know the Isla Vista scene well and hanged out on the UCSB campus in the sixties and seventees......it is a cool place and full of nice people......
but not everyone fits in, is accepted or succeeds in their dreams and social pursuits......
it is my contention that this young man, originally from Britain like myself was unable to really understand the very different lifestyles there and was just as much a victim as those he pursued, killed and injured.
Firstly I lived in LA since the sixties....there is NOTHING royal or magical about it ! The place was always full of losers wandering the streets many with their World belongings in shopping carts and runaways from all corners of the globe slumming around places like Sunset and Hollywood blvds, etc ! The kids and grandkids of those in the movie industry often grow up nothing more than spoiled, pampered losers whose ONLY ambition is fast cars, fast $$$$$$$ and fast one night stands.....drugs, alchohol and endless parties ! Then there's the army of wannabes who never make it but insist on hanging around wasting their time and lives.
In reality Hollywood is a lonely abyss of lost dreams !
“I realize, for the first time, how very lonely I've been in the arena. How comforting the presence of another human being can be.”
Suzanne Collins, The Hunger Games
“A great fire burns within me, but no one stops to warm themselves at it, and passers-by only see a wisp of smoke”
Vincent van Gogh
Loneliness is like a prison with no walls
A prison of the mind
Everything around seems so important
Loneliness is a feeling of rejection
A feeling no one understands
It’s the emptiness in our hearts
Loneliness brings sadness
“It would be too easy to say that I feel invisible. Instead, I feel painfully visible, and entirely ignored.”
David Levithan, Every Day
“If one's different, one's bound to be lonely.”
Aldous Huxley, Brave New World
It’s a vagary thought in each silence
Reaching out with open arms, but no one cares
Nights have come to stay
Morning has become the enemy within
Crying all night and no one dares to save
Loneliness waits patiently
Today and always
Sooner or later it becomes a fairy tale
I've been in that angst of loneliness, where you're really alone in the universe, except for the dog.
“The worst loneliness is to not be comfortable with yourself.”
As far as loneliness, I feel Los Angeles and its layout, having to drive everywhere - it is a lonely place. It's an isolated city in that respect because you're driving to places alone listening to the radio.
Hollywood is loneliness beside the swimming pool.
“I have absolutely no pleasure in the stimulants in which I sometimes so madly indulge. It has not been in the pursuit of pleasure that I have periled life and reputation and reason. It has been the desperate attempt to escape from torturing memories, from a sense of insupportable loneliness and a dread of some strange impending doom.”
Edgar Allan Poe
“Loneliness is the human condition. Cultivate it. The way it tunnels into you allows your soul room to grow. Never expect to outgrow loneliness. Never hope to find people who will understand you, someone to fill that space. An intelligent, sensitive person is the exception, the very great exception. If you expect to find people who will understand you, you will grow murderous with disappointment. The best you'll ever do is to understand yourself, know what it is that you want, and not let the cattle stand in your way.”
Janet Fitch, White Oleander
“The most terrible poverty is loneliness, and the feeling of being unloved.”
Sometimes I feel my whole life has been one big rejection.
If someone you love hurts you cry a river, build a bridge, and get over it.
Count the garden by the flowers, never by the leaves that fall. Count your life with smiles and not the tears that roll.
