    Top Five Managing Companies with the Most Marketable Athletes

     

    The list of most marketable athletes at present has names and managing companies stacking, that the sports magazine came up with a sliding scale principle. In this evaluating procedure athletes were awarded with points from 1 – 50 as per their rankings. Similarly, the sports representation agencies were given points on the basis of their contract and marketing terms with athletes. The assessment was certainly a mindboggling task and revealed some remarkable results from the marketing world.


    From the list, we’ve picked up the top five, take a look:


    1. Lagardère

    With an impressive total of 164 points, the French multinational mass media company had six athletes on the top fifty lists.
    Sloane Stephens grabbed the 10th rank with Eugenie Bouchard clashed with Alex Morgan on 13th and Jordan Spieth made it to the 19th position. Moreover, the English Tennis sensation Andy Murray was ranked 21st with Victoria Azarenka on 31st and Caroline Wozniacki on 48th.
    Sloane Stephens has signed multi-year agreements with American Express and Johnson & Johnson's Listerine. However, the new golden girl of tennis - Eugenie Bouchard is sponsored by Nike and the golfer Jordan Spieth has an endorsement income of nearly $10 million annually.
    On the other hand Andy Murray has multi-year deals with Adidas, Shiatzy Chen, Royal Bank of Scotland and Highland Spring. The 31st ranked Victoria is the fourth highest paid female athlete in the world with total earnings around $16 million.


    2. William Morris Endeavor (WME)

    In a short period of five years, the talent company has taken over the marketing world by a storm.
    This time around the agency had three athletes and 77 points, with Novak Djokovic grabbing the highest of 15th rank followed by Ronda Rousey on 18th and Gabriel Medina on 43rd.

    Novak Djokovic has endorsements over $9 million surpassing his rivals Nadal and Federer. Whereas, the UFC champion Ronda Rousey and Gabriel Medina have deals with XYIENCE Xenergy and Wise Up respectively.


    3. Wasserman Media Group

    Owned by Casey Wasserman, the media group is a sports marketing and talent management company that had 74 points with three athletes ranked in the list.
    Alex Morgan- 13th- striker from US women’s Football team has endorsement deals with Nike, Panasonic, and Coca Cola with several photo-shoots for different sports magazines.
    Anthony Davis grabbed the 29th position and Brittney Griner on 36th after their multi-year endorsement deals with Nike


    4. Creative Artists Agency

    Established way back in 1975, Creative Artists Agency is a popular sports agency that has some of the most remarkable names from the luminary world.
    Robert Griffin III, the famous quarterback for Washington Redskins has numerous deals with brands like Adidas, Castrol Motor Oil, EA Sports, EvoShield, Gatorade, Nissan, and Subway with $21 million contract and a $13.8 million signing bonus makes him the most paid rookie till now.


    5. Excel Sports Management

    Established in 2002, Excel is a renowned name in the industry and is known for providing superlative personal services to several sports representations like NBA, MLB and PGA.
    Blake Griffin, No -32 for Los Angeles Clippers has endorsements with Panini America, Kia Motors, Subway, Vizio and GameFly which makes his annual income nearly $6 million.

    Masahiro Tanaka, the Japanese pitcher for the New York Yankees got on the list after signing a recent $155 million deal with the Yankees for 7 year
