    Rock On!

    Rock On!

    “The Wishing Well” in town.

It is not often that a professional sounding music band comes to the town of Reading, UK. Supported by two electric guitars, two violins, one cello, one keyboard, and a set of drums and loudspeakers, the band has a smartly dressed lead singer, as well as equally well dressed supporting musicians. Together they make up the band “The Wishing Well.” Hailing from Australia, they are worldwide touring band, and have performed in Oxford and Canterbury other than Reading.

Later in May and then in June, the band will be performing in Germany and the Netherlands.

Today on the 25th of May, the band played a selection of their songs, which included the titles, “The Fallen” and “Ceasefire” which from the words seem to be political comments. Other songs were “Sweet Summer Rain”, “Wild Wolf” and “I face myself alone”, which seem to be social messages.

Reading is usually endowed with buskers on Sundays, so it was a surprise to see such a well-equipped and well-rehearsed band of musicians in town.

Their website, www.thewishingwellband.com has photographs and full details.
