This iReport is part of an assignment:
Going public with mental illness
The next time YOU think of calling someone BIPOLAR, just REMEMBER....
For two years I fought my diagnosis of Bipolar NOS (Non Specific). I even told my doctor when he mentioned I might have manic episodes, "NO THANK YOU, I have enough crazy already." (I had already been diagnosed with depression.)
I've finally accepted my diagnosis - I affectionately refer to it as BATSHITCRAZY - but so MANY people are afraid to come "out of the closet" because of the #stigma attached to being bipolar.
So please READ THIS http://wp.me/p4wVt9-6y, and then #thinktwice the next time you even think of using the term bipolar.
Because the weather may be UNPREDICTABLE, but it is NOT bipolar.
