Prince Jorge Rurikovich and Princess Maryia invited for The Diplomat at Casamerica
Prince Jorge Rurikovich and Princess Maryia Vladimirovna Rurikovich were invited for The Official Presentation of The Diplomat in Spain among The Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Garcia Margallo, several Diplomats and Ambassadors from different countries.
“The Diplomat in Spain”, addressed to diplomats accredited in Spain and expatriates resident in our country, had its public presentation in an event taking place in the House of America of Madrid in front of more than a hundred people, being among them many ambassadors, diplomats, businessmen and journalists.
The director of House of America, Tomás Poveda, who opened the event, highlighted “the value” that “The Diplomat in Spain” has: providing a virtual space “to bring embassies accredited in the Kingdom of Spain and the Spanish civil society closer”. Besides, he said that the publication becomes a “natural ally” of the network of Houses of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, because it informs about the activities developed by these institutions daily.
For his part, the director of “The Diplomat in Spain”, Alberto Rubio, explained that the journal is intended to be a reference for the diplomatic community and also for foreigners resident in Spain. Rubio thanked the diplomats for their ideas and suggestions to set this new digital communication platform in motion.
The Ambassador of Ireland, Justin Harman assured that this digital platform can help the diplomatic community to distinguish between the information that is relevant and the one that is not, and he pointed out that it can also be useful for the diplomats’ spouses and for their families while settling in Spain.
Finally, the undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Rafael Mendívil, praised the daily purpose of “The Diplomat in Spain” to inform about aspects concerning the diplomatic body, and he asked for that information to be transmitted with the “greatest rigour and seriousness”.
