    Landscape Photography

Landscape photography is one of aspect or part of the wide area of photography in which one or more natural scenery dominates the picture or photo.

And if you’re looking into taking the best and most beautiful photographs of amazing landscapes for professional or personals reasons then certainly, using your camera phone won’t cut it: you have to invest in the right and suitable equipment. Also, you need to take the time as well to scout for the best and truly exquisite locations that you want to take photos of.

    Basic Landscape Photography Tips

Aside from having the appropriate equipment and finding the location that totally inspires you and which you want take photos of, below are some other basic landscape photography tips shared by Mackay artists to get you started on the right track:

    1. Plan well ahead of your shoot.

Make sure you are familiar with the place you will be heading out to. Ensure that you have all your necessary equipment, a map, some food and water and additional clothing and other items that you may require, especially if you will be going to a remote area. Also, find out what the weather forecast is for that area for that particular day. Lastly, make sure that you arrive to your place of destination with enough time to spare before you start your photography shoot. You need to remember that different times in the day and night will also have an effect on the landscape photos you will be taking of.

    2. Play with different angles.

Don’t be immediately contented with a particular angle that catches your eye. Walk around to see the landscape from different perspectives. You may find that shooting from an unusual angle or perspective may yield better and more beautiful results or images.

    3. Work greatly with any lines and shapes present in the landscape.

Include structural elements in the landscape to motivate any viewer’s eyes into and around the scene. Converging lines, such as the ones formed by trees, a road or stream, can actually give an image better depth, scale and angle.

    4. Always use the right settings of your camera.

In landscape photography, your main aim should be to have as much of the scene as possible looking sharp and crisp. And to help you achieve this objective, you need to shoot the images with a moderately small lens aperture setting. You also need to learn to use or tinker with other features of your camera such as the shutter speed and ISO setting to make sure that you get the best images possible.
