    'Matthew Reeve accepts his father Christopher Reeve's Superman Hall of Heroes Award in New York City'

     

    Matthew Reeve was on hand this month in Times Square, New York City to receive one of the first Superman Hall of Heroes Awards on behalf of his father the late Christopher Reeve.

     

    Christopher Reeve paralyzed May 25 1995 in an accident at an equestrian event, passed away almost 10 years ago on 10th October 2004, was inducted into the Superman Hall of Heroes along with other notables that also included Shaquille O'Neal and Jackie Robinson. The ceremony created by Warner Brothers and DC Entertainment also celebrates normal everyday citizens. Each year celebrity heroes and real people will be inducted, and these will be individuals who have had a profound and positive impact on their fans, friends and the general public.

     

    Matthew Reeve said "My Dad became a hero because he chose not to let his injury define him". The Superman Hall of Heroes focuses on the positive and reinforces the universal tenet that good does indeed triumph over evil.

     

    DC Entertainment and Warner Brothers have also launched the "Superman Hall of Heroes" , as an online portal through which individuals can gift their own heroes with Man of Steel themed Merchandise at http://www.supermanhallofheroes.com/ .
