    The three musketeers

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     benignor has been fascinated with marine life since he was a child, but he first thought underwater photography to be especially daunting. 'What I found most challenging in the beginning was the concept that underwater, you have to think about how to handle the medium through which you are shooting,’ he said. Recently he started to understand how to photograph through water, which he says requires a special treatment, and also how to feature the creatures living in the water as well. 'The biggest highlight to me is that making the jump into underwater photography has opened up a new way of communing with wildlife in their environment, because I have become more attuned to their behavior and their perception of the surroundings,’ he said.
    - Jareen, CNN iReport producer

As in the Dumas story, I came across these four inseparable companions in Cozumel, and was struck by their seemingly enduring bond. The angelfish are there just to mooch some morsels off the organic material that the hawksbill turtle scrapes off the rocks and coral with its powerful beak, but at the same time, he/she seemed to have a serene, perhaps even fond attitude towards his/her shell-less friends. As can be seen by my dive party far ahead in the distance, I spent quite a bit of time taking in this colorful quartet, to which they did not seem to object.
