Nine decomposing bodies found in New England Funeral Home

A small family-owned funeral home in a quiet New England town was investigated this week and the findings are shocking. During the investigation of the Ryder Funeral Home located in South Hadley, Massachusetts, nine bodies were found. The bodies had been turned over to the funeral home for preparation and burial. Most were discovered unembalmed and wrapped in sheets and blankets. A few were contained in improperly sealed body bags. One body was found in the garage, others in private rooms of the home. None were located in proper storage or embalming areas. The local community is of course shocked by this finding, especially those who have friends and loved ones who had been in the care of the Ryder funeral home in recent months. All bodies have been turned over to other local funeral homes for proper disposal, andt he owner of the home has had his license suspended. The Ryder Funeral Home is located in a former private residence and has been in operation as a funeral home since 1953. It has always been owned and operated by the Ryder family. The current owner/operator is the son of the founder'.
