    The best things about Poland

    Chopin's Warsaw

Move over Mick Jagger... in Poland, Fryderyk Chopin is the immortal rockstar.

Poland and its capital city of Warsaw celebrate Chopin in extraordinary ways.

After landing at the airport that bares this Polish composer’s name and making your way to the city center, stroll down Krakowskie Przedmieście and engage with the interactive musical benches that tell the story of Chopin’s Warsaw. This city is the home of Chopin’s heart, literally, which is contained in an urn at Kościół św. Krzyża. A few blocks away, you’ll find the Fryderyk Chopin Museum; a monument to his life, music, and legacy.

But it doesn’t just stop with museums and bronze statues like it would in any other city. In Warsaw, emerging artists take to the street to create larger-than-life murals of Chopin that bring his celebrity into 21st century - there are several vivid Chopin murals throughout the city.

More than 200 years after his birth, Poland’s (and the world’s) love and admiration of Chopin hasn’t faltered one bit - it is as vibrant ever in Warsaw.
