How To Get Happier & More Grateful Children: Weekly Parenting Tip - Make a Gratitude Table Cloth!

Parenting Tips for How to Get Happier + More Grateful Children and to Be Happier + More Grateful Yourself, No matter how busy your family is!

We all want to have happier and more grateful children, and be happier and more grateful ourselves, but wanting it, and doing it, are two very different things!

The way we teach our children to be more grateful, and the way we become more grateful ourselves, is first and foremost by shaping our thoughts towards gratitude and the many things in our lives we have to be grateful for. Next comes words and actions that are in line with grateful thinking and living. When we do this for 21 days or more, we start forming the habit of gratitude with our children. Once we keep the habit going and growing it eventually becomes part of our character, of who we are, are part of our children's character. Our character determines our destiny, the life we create, so you can see how important that first step, shaping your thoughts is!

This week's parenting tip for how to get happier and more grateful children is to make a Gratitude Table Cloth. This is all about shaping our thoughts, and helping our children shape theirs, to focus on the many things we all have to be grateful for.

It's super simple and fun. It connects the family and reminds us all what's most important.

It's up to us to teach our children to be more grateful. It's up to us to remember to be more grateful ourselves. We we're grateful, we're happier. Not only do we know this for ourselves, but there is a lot of research telling us the same thing. Gratitude makes us, and our children, happier, healthier, more optimistic and so much more.

I know it's seems impossible to think about adding one more thing to your to do list when you're already so busy and overwhelmed as it is. I get it, I'm a very busy mom of four myself, including two teenage daughters. But if everything we're running around doing is, in the end, so that we and our children are happier, we have to ask ourselves, is it all really making us happier.

We know being grateful makes us happier so we have to not only add it to our priority list, we must add it to our 'to do' list! The good news is, I've found a bunch of super simple and fun ways to do just that - to bring more gratitude and happiness into your life and into the lives of your children.

They're things we can all do, no matter how busy we are. No excuses! Also, to start building the habit of gratitude we don't have to do 10 or 20 or 30 things, we just have to do one thing per week. That's great news for busy parents!
