Bangladesh road mishap kills seven
Saifur Rahman Saif, Jessore(Bangladesh) The air of Nawapara industrial town became heavy as seven passengers of a motorized three-wheeler were killed and at least three others were wounded in a road mishap near Ahad Cement Factory Limited on Jessore – Khulna Highway under Nawapara industrial town in Jessore on Tuesday morning.
The dead were identified as Faruk Hossain, 40 of Alka village, Phultala, Khulna, Mantu Karmaker, 40, Phultala, Khulna, Tutul Mallik, 35, Nauli village under Abhaynagar upazila, Jessore, Gopal Bala, 60 of Paigram Kashba village under Phultala upazila, Khulna, Iqbal Mollah, 40 of Shubharara village under Abhaynagar upazila in Jessore, Paritosh Kumar Saha, 55 of Phultala, Khulna and Sagir Hossain, 30 of Paigram Kashba, Phultala upazila.
The wounded Forkan Ali, 35 of Alka village under Phultala upazila and Monirul Islam, 40 of Buinkara village under Abhaynagar upazila were rushed to Abhaynagar upazila health complex.
The accident took places while a goods laden truck bearing number Khulna Metro—Ta-11- 0101 ran over the three- wheeler owned by Hamza Enterprize from the front side killing the seven on the spot on Jessore- Khulna Highway between 7:30 am and 7:45 am BD time on Tuesday, said Mollah Khabir Ahmed, officer in-charge, Abhaynagar police station.
The three-wheeler was coming towards Nawapara industrial town in Jessore from Phultala of Khulna, the OC added.
Hearing the information of the accident, locals rushed to the spot and took part in rescue. They also took the victims at Abhaynagar upazila health complex. ‘The bodies were handed over to their relatives at noon,’ the OC further said.
