    Your 'Aha' weight-loss moments

    Lost 222 lbs Naturaly!

My Name is Tevante Clark, Im 23, from Chapel Hill North Carolina. In 2011I weighed in at 402lbs I decided to make a change in my life for the better. I told a select few that I decided to get the Gastric Bypass surgery and they supported me 100%. My mother whom works at Duke university entered me into a program there call Live for life. I had to joined that program and lose 40lbs before I could get the surgrey. 4-5 months went down and i had lost that much. The day came and it was up to me on rather I should get the bypass or not. I chose not to because I was enjoying the program I was in. I stayed with the program a for a few more months and when I left i had lost a total of 150lbs. At that moment i felt good and I figure I can reach my goal (which was 225lbs) by myslef and that is what I did. I stuck to plan in which the doctores there gave me which was no french fries,no fried foods,no sodas, no juices, and no seconds. I started off going to the gym 2-3 times a week and by the time i was finish i was going 5 or maybe 6 times a week. I had graduated High school in 2009 and only had seen a selected few of my classmates since graduating, the only people that had seen me was 3-4 of my close friends.I had been overweight my entire life and was embarrassed to go anywhere or do anything because i felt like people were going to laugh at me. There were plenty of nights where I would cry cause I had no friends and I felt like me being fat was the reason why. I Now weigh 180lbs!! my life is more interesting I go out a lot more and get a lot of attention and overall my health is great and I feel great! I dont really like talking about my weight loss because I feel like people would get tired of hearing about it, but I do want to share my story and if theres a weigh i can motivate somebody out there thats my age or younger or older I would like to speak to them or encourage them. Cause it can be done! you just have to want it!!
