Blue and Green Lake in Rotorua

    A sight to see.
The green and blue lakes are next to each other. This attraction is 10 minutes drive from the Redwoods.
There is an elevated area that tourists can stop by and see the 2 lakes side by side - one is blue and one is emerald green.

    Tikitapu Blue Lake
    - turquoise blue due to reflection from white rhyolite and pumice bottom

Lake Rotokakahi or Green Lake Named for its abundance of kakahi (freshwater mussels),[2] it flows to Lake Tarawera via the Te Wairoa waterfalls. From the air the lake looks emerald green due to its shallow, sandy bottom.

This area is 20 minutes from CBD. Our hosts at MALFROY motor lodge   Rotorua accommodation and mineral pool, 51 Malfroy Road, Rotorua highly suggested this trip.
