Parenting Tip for How to Get Happier & More Grateful Kids: Appreciating An Ordinary Day
This Week's Tip is Appreciating An Ordinary Day. It's all about shaping our thoughts, focusing on the everyday moments that make up each day, and ultimately our lives. It's about taking the time to notice and documenting some of them so we'll remember as children grow and amemories fade. As you pay attention to your ordinary day, feel grateful for all of the moments you're taking the time to notice. I don't have to tell you, because you'll feel it, but doing this will make you happier too!
Living more in the moment and knowing how important the moments are is something that most of us just don't focus on because we're busy running from one thing to the next. It's easy to forget to stop and focus on the present moment, to watch your children sleep, if only for a few seconds, to stop whatever we're doing that we think is more important, and watch them play outside, swing on the swings, race around the yard, chase butterflies . . . .
The 'little things' aren't little, for it's the 'little things' that our lives are made up of - the everyday, ordinary moments, that all too often we take for granted. They're gone in an instant, so you have to continually remind yourself to notice them, to be present and aware, for as each passes, so does your life.
Years from now you'll be so glad you did this, and so will your children!
