The Cure For Mental Illness Stigma

Yes, mental illness has a stigma. I'm extremely open about my own PTSD, Major Depressive Disorder and Anxiety.

As I look back on my life all the way back to Kindergarten? I can see a cure for the stigma. Not only that it could help prevent bullying.

Every year a child goes to school a child and their parent would be required to do a mental health screening and not only that they would recieve one counseling session. Starting from Kindergarten up to 12th grade. Not only could we see if a child is thinking of a dangerous act? We can access mental illness early. All children who attend public schools would go through it and all records would be kept private.

It would be paid for through taxpayers and our children could feel safe that there are mo threats within their school. Parents and administrators could see if a pattern is happening.

I know alot of parents may be against this? But we trust our schools to teach sex education and do weight and fitness testing in school. How could a mental health screening be any different? Of course HIPPA Laws would be in effect to protect everyones privacy.

This would force our government to work for us. Our children would get the proper health early on. The discussion of taking or limiting guns would be gone. There are just so many benefits especially knowing our childs mental health would be taken care of early on.

    Something to really think about.

The grave im standing over is my brothers. He committed suicide in 2010. I wish he would of been screened and helped.
