    USS Spiegel Grove (LSD-32)

When descending on wreck for the first time is an amazing feeling as you get closer the ship comes into view.  This was my first time diving on the USS Spiegel Grove, and my dive buddy and I decided to hire a guide to give us a guided tour.  I have dove on several other wrecks before, but not one that was 510 ft (160 m) in length.  The VIS (Visibility) on this dive was about 70 ft (21 m) so you could not see the whole wreck even as you descended upon it.  We really got lucky with the conditions the day we dove here too.  Smooth water on the surface and no current on both dives we did.  We really had a great time and saw a lot of Goliath Grouper.  It would take many dives to explore this ship, and I look forward to many more.
